I know everyone says paid collection is as bad as unpaid, but do other status' affect the score or creditworthiness? Does anyone even look at the status except for me? <g> When companies do AR pings, what information do they get? I'm trying to get a status of "in bankruptcy" a CA put on a collection removed but don't want to threaten suit until i get enough violations to more than cover the debt. The CRAs verified it through the CA but we haven't yet filed for bankrutptcy and don't expect to for at least 2 months, if at all. The CRAs say if the CA says it's true, it is. They refuse to verify it through the courts. (The CA hasn't validated anything with me yet, but it's only been 3 weeks. They updated the CR from unpaid to in bankruptcy after I sent the validation letter.) It's getting close to the time our open cards (gas cards, lowes and home depot) do AR pings and I'm afraid the "in bankutpcy" status will cause them to cancel our accounts, even though we pay at least the minimum due and are never late on most of the cards (a couple have lates from 97-99). If the cards are cancelled, we'll be filing bankruptcy within weeks for sure, since we need the credit lines to remain in business. Am I worrying needlessly? If only people who pull hards see the status and status doesn't matter much, is there any rush to remove it? I don't expect to apply for credit anytime soon, only CAs should be pulling hards.
