This is my first post and have questions.

    1) Are there companies that can offer legal credit repair or are they all illegal? I live in Arkansas and have heard DateLine say that they are scams.

Attorney General here in Arkansas even went on the radio and said that credit repair companies were infact not legal.

I've read where companies have lost lawsuits(ICR aka NCER) and millions of dollars.

    2) What did those credit repair companies do wrong/illegal for that to happen?

The FTC has it on their site that the best is for you to do your own credit repair.

    3) But what if a company does it just like we do? same letters, procedures, etc.

    4) What's to stop a company from doing the same? Or do they use the same letters and procedures already?

    5) How could this be legal if we/you clean our own credit? yet companies are getting into trouble.

We all pretty much use the same Form Letters...

    5) Don't the CRA's think that Credit repair orginizations are doing all the work? Even though its an individual

    Just wondering.

    Thanks

I have yet to hear of any good ones. Are they illegal? Some are. Credit repair is supposed to be illegal. But there are many forms of credit repair. Even debt consolidation is a form of credit repair. FTC don't care much for most of them either. Credit repair is a real can of worms and I never do credit repair for that reason.

Attorney General here in Arkansas even went on the radio and said that credit repair companies were in fact not legal.

When they run into problems it is usually for false advertising. Claiming to do things that they really can't do.

The FTC has it on their site that the best is for you to do your own redit repair.

I think that is basically true. Better that you learn how to do it yoursef because nobody will be able to give the kind of service that you can do for ourself and you can do it yourself for a lot less money

) But what if a company does it just like we do? same leters, procedures, etc.

That is what they do. How many ways can you possibly say Not mine" or "the information is incorrect?"

    4) What's to stop a company from doing the same? Or do they use the same letters and procedures already?
Nothing is to stop them from doing the same and that is pretty much what they do.

    5) How could this be legal if we/you clean our own credit? yet companies are getting into trouble.

You posted this in the wrong place for it to get much attention.
You need to post it on the credit talk section so more folks will see it.
