Please bear with me on this confusing saga.

Have a c/o with First Premier. Need to clear to get a mortgage. (Its only on Experian as a derog, its on Equifax as a paid account, zero balance but with a ton of lates repoting as R1.)

So I sent a settlement offer that was more than 50 percent, and as an inticment, included a cashier's check for my offer with a restrictive endorsement that 1. the remainder would not be sold and 2. they would delete the listing (or at least all the derogs).

    They sent it back!!!
But there are somethings that are "off" in the letter.

    The letter states --
"Dear Mr. so and so (NOT my husband's name.)

Thank you for contacting us regarding your account number XXX. (Correct account number)

We are returning your payment of $X. We are unable to comply with the restrictions mentioned in your letter.

Our records show this account was applied for by phone in June of 2002. (NOT according to CRAs!!!) Copies of your statement or copies of charges made on this account are available to order for a charge of $3 per page.

    Sincerely,
    Correspondence Department."

Now, I went to look at Experian's listing again and found some funky stuff there too that I had not noticed before --

    FIRST PREMIER CREDITCARD

This item was verified on 3-2003 and remained unchanged.

    Date Opened: 06/2001
    Reported Since: 02/2001
    Date of Status: 03/2002
    Last Reported: 01/2003

How can it have been reported since 02/2001 but not opened until 06/2001? They are also showing a 30 day late on 3/2001, also before it was opened!

EQUIFAX shows it as opened on 6/01.

But according to the mixed up letter they sent, "their records show is was opened in June of 2002"

So what do you make of all this?

Why the wrong name on the letter?
Could the wrong date be a another "typo" in the letter?
Or do I have reason for a CRA deletion?

please help. I really don't know what to do about this!

    thanking in advance.

    peace,
    delilah

    Dispute it with EX.

How can you be reporting an account xxx number of months before it opened?

So just forget about all this settlement stuff, including problems in their reply and just try to dispute it off through the CRA?

    sounds like a plan.

Should I even touch EQUIFAX's listing?
    It shows:

    Paid account/zero balance (R1)
    30 (1), 60 (1), 90+ (13)
As best I can tell, it looks like they are reporting the most recent late as 10/02.

I'm afraid if I dispute it as "never late" with EQUIFAX, the OC might decide to change it to the derog it is on EXPERIAN.

    thanks again.

    peace,
    delilah

Thats a personal choice, and one of the reasons I do have some of the derogs I do. I'm scared in trying to get them off one report, I re-screw up another.

    I need some courage sometimes.

==============They can't charge you this for a disputed account.
