    ok - need opinions here...

settled out on a debt in exchange for removal from my credit report...

wasn't removed w/in timeframe, so i disputed w/credit bureaus hoping to prod them along...

THE FREAKIN' COMPANY VERIFIED! AT THE SAME BALANCE IT WAS ORIGINALLY!

i settled for more than what i thought i should & now they are pulling this ****!

somedays i feel like i am going in the wrong direction with this.

on the plus side in the last seven months my fico jumped 131 points....

Did you get the agreement in writing? If so, send them a strongly worded letter telling them that if they don't delete it you'll sue for breach of contract. Then do it.

i have the whole thing in writing.

it just ticks me off that i should have to sue after making somewhat right with them.

guess i'm more venting with anything.

***would it be a bad idea to send the agreement to the CRA?***i know i've read posts that if you do that your admitting the debt is accurate and they won't remove it. to be honest, i don't really care if it just showed as paid. i really don't want to have to sue. HOW CAN I FIX THIS W/O GOING TO COURT?

    • Would you post the agreement (without any personal info), so we can take a look at it? Without seeing the actual wording, we can't be much of a help ...

Wasn't it you that said we should just let it go if they fix things.?

I said why forgive them when they don't forgive us when we fix it or make it right.

You paid the debt and made it right and they even put it in wrighting that they would just let it go and still refuse to forgive you.

Guess this ought to bring home to you the point I was making when I said why forgive them when they don't forgive us when we fix it or make it right.

yeah i will post it when i get back in the office - either friday or monday. i forgot it there today after i got the e-mail from Experian saying "this debt remains unchanged".

funny thing - as i'm sitting here this evening i get an email about another account i'm battling that really isn't mine (paid NSF check for $69) stating that one is verified again (CA won't validate)

looks i've got two more court cases to start :):):)

lbrown - i think you need glasses. i never said forgive them for anything. i said i didn't think it was right to sue if you DIDN'T make it right. if you make it right, then feel free to sue to your hearts content. your posts make absolutely no sense in regards to what i had said.

btw, if they fix it i will forgive them. i have no interest in making a profit off of them.

and i couldn't in good faith sue if i hadn't made it right.

You will soon find out that the best way to deal with your credit problems is to forget about this "make it right" and "If they fix it I will forgive them" ideas. ALL of your dealings with the CRA, OC and CA need to be conducted under the mindset that it is all BUSINESS. They don't care about you or even if the debt is legit!

The credit repair process should be focused on THEM and what laws they have to follow and if they break those laws you must be prepared to sue them regardless if you have â??made it rightâ?.

Probably now and forever. Rather than send it, use your leverage with the CA, take them to court if need be. Leave the CRA out of it ... the CA can get done with them what you need done. If the CA is at all cooperative, they can send you a copy of the UDF they used to try to get your information off the CRAs system. That's something you CAN send to the CRA safely.

I agree. The CRA will probably say it's not legal for them to make that deal (not true, but they want you to think it is).

Deal with the CA and make them fix it or face the consequences.

Ever stop to think there is a connection between this train of thought and why you are having this very problem????

    • I don't think it's about forgiveness at all. You broke the law - you gotta pay for it, it doesn't matter if you're a consumer or a CRA.
