Has anyone been able to successfully upgrade their Aria (now GetSmart) accounts from the standard level (20% interest) to the platinum level, or receive any other interest rate reductions or CL increases? If so, did you do this via retention, or was it automatic (in the mail)? Thanks!
I got my APR lowered from 23.99% to 16.99% and my limit increased initially from $500 to $5000 now. I paid for the $49 increases but got those all refunded via retention. The APR reduction (and subsequent refund of my annual fee) I got from continuously writing to them at Planetfeedback. I'd suggest you'd go that route first and see how much you can squeeze out of Providian. Good luck!
