So I had a checking account with Charter One (now Citizens) bank that went into overdarft for $350. I had had payment arrangements but kind of forgot about them (oops), so it apparently got turned over to Arrow. I've been contacted by Arrow many times by phone and once by mail. However, Arrow nor Charter one are showing up on my CR's other than having pulled reports. Should I pay it and hope that it doesn't show?
May not be a bad idea. Then again, there is nothing that will prohibit Arrow from reporting the account even after you pay it. Arrow is a tough nut to crack and a terrible offender of the FCRA. My inclination is to advise you to request validation however, I'll presume that the thirty day window has expired. As such, it accomplishes nothing and acts much akin to poking a short stick at a bear . . . they may take a swipe at you by virtue of it. No good advice to give here but, my suggestion is to leave it be for the time being. If they do report on your reports, then take action.
On the occasion I've been in the 30 day window, I paid the OC, and at the same time requested validation from the CA. In those instances, the CA never reported. My guess is that if they bother to request papers from the OC, they discover its already been paid, and just let it go. YMMV
That is my suggestion since you indicate it is yours, and you have the funds to pay it. But you should do it quickly. Arrow can place on your reports at any time.
