I got a bill today from them for $19,000+ from an old Citibank account assigned to my ex to pay in divorce (he apparently didn't). After I got up off the floor, I remember the last payment that I know of was in 1989.

These guys stoop pretty low! CA statute is 4 years - do they think we are dumb, or what?

Yeah, I've got mail from them too for a debt from 1995. They buy really old debts.

Check your report, cause they like to do hard pulls.

I did a search on this site about them.
    They are scum bags royale!
If they did hard pulls on me, I will sue them.
Where on this site does it tell how to do that? I forgot.
    Thanks!
    We gotta stick together!

They have pulled two hard inquiries on my TU report and I sent them a PP letter CRRR. I have no current outstanding debts only SOL about 15 yrs. old.

They did the same crap with me. Have already sent an PP letter, as well as a validation letter and a demand for a $1000 for the 9 year old account they are trying to collect on.

I am right in the midst of closing on a construction loan, I will sue with a jury and show major damages if they don't drop the inquiry and send me a check pronto.

    These guys are bottom feeders.

Well, this gets better by the day. In my mailbox today, a letter from Arrow saying thanks for agreeing to pay the balance, send us a check. Continued collection after a validation request, unbelievable.

What would you guys do at this point? I just don't want this to get listed on my report when I will be converting on my construction to permanent loan in six months. If they want to list it after, I'll have nothing but time to battle them in court, and won't care about the hit on my report in the short term at that time.

Send a fax to Patel (yes that's his name) at their head office. Tell him you sent a validation request, it wasn't answered. Tell him the statue of limitations expired a long time ago, there is no right to collect anymore.

I bet he faxes you a letter telling you that they have deleted the account /won't be contacting you again. (Not that they may not try in the future). Save the letter in a box. Tell them to go away.

There is no guarantee that your credit score won't be permanently affected by this for sometime. There have been people who have had accounts apprear on their credit report and their credit score goes down say 20 points. After it's removed, the score rose 5-10 points and they still lost at least 10 or more points from their score.

Thanks for the contact name. At this time, its not listed on my report, I'm trying to avoid getting it put on there at all, because of the house thing. I will send a fax off to him this morning.

Let you know how I make out.

    UPDATE:

Well, I got a letter back from Arrow stating they will contact the CRA's and delete the tradeline. Problem is, there was no tradeline, just the inquiry. So I'm hoping that is what they meant.

As of Friday, its still there, and guess what, now I see a hard from NCO! Unfrickinbelievable!

I had one from them months ago, and it dropped off by itself, going to see if this does the same thing. I don't want to stir things up at this point.

    for all :)

just sharing my opinions hope you dont mind,

    1) I would most definately file a complaint with the local BBB office

    2) I would file complaints with the CA attorney Generals Office.

    3) also inform the FTC of their illegal activites so that they will store it in their databases for possible future suits.

with persisitance we may be able to shut them down!

    4) ck out consumerlaw.org

    5) ck out ripoffreport.com and add your experiences to their files so other consumers can become aware.

    6) contact an Attorney and get a class action lawsuit going
