Aspire VISA. Has anyone had any experiences with these people? Please see my link regarding this: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&pgnum=1&postid=205650#post205650
When I started out, I got tons of offers from Aspire. They are the robber barrons of the cc world. Check their fees and penalties. The APR is laughable. Shred and toss the application if you get it. -Peace. Dave
Thanks for the response. They called me this afternoon and for a fast moment, the idea of a pre-approved offer was tantalizing. But reason took hold and I asked them for their number and said I would call them back if I wanted the card. The two slimy things about this company are that they are contacting people by phone and they are claiming to be called Columbus Bank when their actual name is Aspire Visa.
Yea do a search...here is a post from DOG...notice at the bottom where he mentions the "41% default rate"...that is NOT a typo. They are nuts, but people still sign up. Erik, you can find much better...can you do Cap1? If so, they are an excellent startup or rebuilding card, and with Mr. Cooke on our side you get what you deserve unlike other sub-prime cards I could mention. -Peace, Dave
Erik- the card is Aspire Visa, the bank issuing the card is Columbus Bank & Trust, and the holding company for the bank & card is CompuCredit Don't get hung up on the names being different - it's quite normal. Kind of like "Diners Club" is the brand, but it's Citibank who owns the account. "Home Depot" is the card, Monogram Credit Card Bank is the issuer, and GE owns Monogram. Nevertheless - they are most definitely a sub-prime issuer- and they're in the same trouble that Providian and NextCard are in.
Thanks for the feed back. I really appreciate it. I wanted to get the word out to other ex NEXT CARD credit card holders that these people are going after us. I am definitely not interested in getting a credit card from a sub-prime slime credit card company.
I have to admit it did not take Aspire too long to go after Nextcard's customer list. Wondering it Aspire is the only one. From the look of things only sub-prime lenders have expressed any interest. Best regards, Mirage
IF YOU GET AN OFFER FROM A SLIME OR SUB-SLIME TELL THEM YOU DON'T CARE TO DO BUSINESS WITH SLIME OR SUB-SLIME!!! My parents got an offer for a 3% loan...I LOOKED AT THE "FINE PRINT"...36%~~~3%/MONTH!!!
