I've read through all of the posts concerning American Agencies. I sent them a validation letter and they sent me back a duplicate of an old SWBell phone account. The old bill is for $408. But American Agencies wants me to pay $520 because they added 123.47 for late payment fees. They are on my TU report but the last date of activity is stating 2003 but luckily on the bill they sent me it specifically states 1998. How do I get TU to change the last activity date to reflect the correct date? Should I settle with American Agencies for a lower amount with deletion? Would they even be receptive? It looks like they are an unscruplous collection agency. But whose not. How best should I proceed to get this off of my TU credit report? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
