I have an Associates Visa which I received last July or so and have a perfect history with it. This month's statement included information that Associates is now part of Citibank and the payment check has to be made payable to Citibank from now on. There is no Associates name anymore. My question is, since I'm on Citibank's blacklist, can they close this card? Do you think they'll check up on these things? I'm worried they'll close my account. I've been so good with this card, they even increased my CL about 2 months ago.
You probably just backdoored into Citi by them snapping up Associates. I still have a Citi neg on my report, but have continued to have my ATT Universal card with no problems (however, checks are still payable to ATT Universal). If you can, I'd keep your balances low on the card for a while, just in case. -ingenue
I don't think so, Shirley. I think you'll be fine. It also may help you wrt getting a new Citi card in the future if you can tell the credit dept "hey, I've had this Citibank/Associates card for x years with a perfect payment history... won't you reconsider?"
Re: Associates/Citibank blacklist i They may share the same database as Citibank after they merged with Citibank (SD) next couple of months. Ron.
Re: Associates/Citibank blacklist i BUMP Has anyone had Citi close and acct once they take over if you are on the citi blacklist? I have a neg citi acct and I am worried I may lose my SEAR Gold Mastercard when they take over. I know this post is old. Any info would be helpful.
