associates preapproval

    I recieved Associates Preapproval in mail today. I am not going to respond. I have been declined for every preapproval Ive recieved. Why do these companies waste money sending these offers to people who will not be approved. Why dont they narrow their criteria to those people who will be approved? I dont get it.

    They get your name from mailing lists. You may have had another card such as Capital One and they send your name in a list if you are current with them but when the company sends out the Pre-Approval they still pull a credit report. I guess they figure if you are current with someone, chances are you have good credit.
