DH received an offer for the AT&T Universal Platium card -- 0 % on BT until June, 2004 10.24 % on everything else (and future BTs) no annual fee We are tempted by the offer, but afraid his credit might not be in the tip top shape it would need to be. I think they usually pull TU here in Texas (from what I can tell from the Doc's Who Pulled My Credit chart ... thanks!). I don't have a recent score from TU, but back in October a mortgage lender told us it was 582. Since then, a $500 unpaid charge-off has been deleted as well as a $60 medical collection. There is still an upaid cc c/o to the tune of $600 and an unpaid utility collection about $100. (I working on it! I working on it!) He does not have any open cc (so you can see why we are interested.) There are some closed accounts in good standing, but the only open thing is a student loan (also in good standing.) Should we even bother applying for this? thanking in advance! peace, delilah
Hi, Perhaps you should wait for a little while more, until you have no derogs on your and your DH's credit reports. I am almost sure that you may get rejected. My wife received a MBNA platinum offer ... she makes $22K per year, but almost no credit history (just 2 CCs with about 1 year payment history), score 670+, no dice. Rejected. Avoid a hard inquiry, if you can. -- lakpr
If you can make yourself hold off, then wait to apply since you're working on the other "baddies." If you have success w/ them, then you'll be glad that you did b/c your CL will probably be higher initially, etc.
my husband got that offer, and i also got the same offer in a different mailing. i also got my husbands cr from the agencies today in the mail. his fico with exp. is 665. but i think with tu, it shows a citibank overdraft protection line of credit in coll. from '98. this was actually included in the bk. we have atleast 3 diff. citibank overdrafts listed on both our cr's. this is weird as we only had the one l.of.c. hmmm? gonna dispute it as 'not mine'. but i really like this att offer, since providian won't lower our rate at all. should we go for it? also just applied via online for navy fed to refinance vehicle.
If I am not mistaken, AT&T is offered through Citibank. I am also in TX, and Citibank pulls Equifax for me.
