i filed ch 7 on 3/4/04. i included 2 cell phone accounts i had with att. one account they just keep billing me for. the other they sent me a letter saying since i filed bk they are changing account # and now they are billing me for the new account #.i have not used eather one since i filed, and i have not responded to any of there bills. they wanted me to put up 200.00 deposit to keep the new account and i dont want any of there service. i thought that a bk was a fresh start. should i let them keep billing and go to collections and then sue for trying to defraud me. i am in california thanks
i used an attorney when i filed. but as soon as he had my money in his pocket after the consulation. very hard to find.even harder to get him to answer phone calls. its all about money if they do something they want to get paid. i will probley do this one on my own as i am doing my credit repair.
I just read somewhere that there is a class action lawsuit going against AT & T I think it was on the FTC website or Ca attorney general page . Ill try to find it and post it later. actually just had a TL with a CA deleted off my CR and AT&T was who they were collecting for. I sent a request for validation to the CA after I disputed the acct with the CRA and the CA had no proof so they deleted the acct. once in awhile you win one
