I applied last week, and got a very thin letter today. Assuming it was a decline, I almost didn't read it. It was a letter saying that they needed more information first. They need a copy of a utility bill w/ my name and address on it. I've never heard of this. They already pulled a hard on TU. Anyone ever seen this?

    This happens ALL THE TIME!!!

It is NOT a DENIED...it is APPROVED when you send the extra "STUFF"...

    You must have moved recently...

that's just it though, I haven't moved recently. I've lived here for 19 months. I have never heard of this. Hopefully it will be approved. I have not derogs on TU, but I have a TON of inquiries. I'll mail them my old phone bill tomorrow!!

A "ton" of inquiries is a "red flag" for id theft.
They are just making absolutely sure you are whom you say you are.Make sure you send them a phone bill or utility bill no more than 60 days old,and the original -not a photocopy.

Ok, let me clarify. A TON, is 11 hards over the last 2 years. 6 will fall off in the next 6 months. 11 is just so much more than my other reports. I know it's a lot, but I've seen people on this board w. lots more. I just didn't want you to think that I had 100 hards or something! LOL Geez, if I had known then what I know now, I would'nt have applied for all that crap!! LOL Yes, I will send them the current phone bill (I just didn't want them to see the past due part-lol) My bill and my payment cross in the mail every month, so it always shows late!

I received and invitation today to apply for the AT&T Universal Platinum Master Card. However, before I rack up another inquiry on this application does anyone know who they pull?

The offer is 0% APR for 12 months on BT's. I have until 10/15/2002 to respond.

I would NEVER send an original anything to anybody. a copy should be just fine for this purpose.

    Diane & Sandie,

Thanks for your replies. I'm in the Southeast and my gut tells me they are going to pull Equifax. If so, I'm going to wait and see what the results of my last dispute are before I apply.

    Thanks again!
