I am pursing a mortage and have spoken with a couple of mortage brokers but, wanted to get you opinion first. First my scores are 577 (TU fako) , 623(Experian), 630(Equifax). Now, one guy I spoke with sound pretty real stated that FHA would be the route to go. I understand that the score they prefer is 620. Second, I do have two chargeoffs, a collection, back child support, and a 30 day late. Do you think I would be able to get a mortage? Thanks in advance.

While FHA is not score driven, you can not have any current open collections or chargeoffs (they must be paid). There are other avenues that may be available to you besides FHA, but without knowing a lot more info, I am not able to provide accurate suggestions. If you wish, you may email me offboard and I will try to give you ways to go.

Good luck in the mortgage hunt.
