I am thinking about upgrading to the Quantum card in a few months and I am wondering if the benefits are worth it or whether it is better to stay with the Plat Plus.

The card looks beautiful but I am wondering if I should go for the switch.

Also is it possible to combine an MBNA loc with the credit card, I have an xtra 2500 not used on the loc and wondered if I could combine them to help me better qualify for the Quantum.

    Thanks in advance :)

You can indeed combine MBNA LOCs with credit cards. Last month, I combined 2 LOCs w/ one Platinum Plus, which they converted to the Quantum card. Make sure you call the credit card analysts to make this change.

Is there any particular reason I need to speak with the credit card analysts, are they pulling an inquiry for the Quantum card?

Do you think its really better than the Plat Plus other than it looks good,,;)

I wondered about this card myself. I have the platinum plus with an APR of 11.99 but I understand the APR on the Quantum is 13.9. I don't know if they offer a lower rate.

On the other hand, the Quantum card has no transaction fee for convenience checks so this could save you more money in the long run if you use them.

    Dave:

I have a go to rate of 9.9% , is the 13.9% on Quantum standard ?

No fee on the checks, what interest rate do you have when you use them?

Others with the Quantum please comment as to whether the benefits are better and what are your rates?

    Thanks in advance;)

    They do AR'S every month...they DON'T need a "HARD"....
But if you had ANY lates or over-limits with MBNA, they MIGHT pull a "HARD"...

Your response is much appreciated George!

Did you transfer or applied outright?

Did you negotiate that rate or were you offered this rate when obtaining the card either by transfer or new application?

    Thank you George:)

...I told them that my MAXIMUM I am paying is 9.99%...DIDN'T MATTER...

------>I did have PLATINUM PLUS that was 13.99%...so they think they did me a favor by giving me 11.99% and dropping the BT FEE BY $10.00...when I traded for QUANTUM...

Well my go to rate is 9.9% fixed and unless they are offering a lower APR, there is no need to change.

One thing I don't like is their transaction fees for BTs.

I will continue to give it some thought.

    Re: Attention: MBNA cardholders!

I would ask if I could keep my 9.9% and trade for the QUANTUM...

I got 0.00% BT and PURCHASES from FLEET (unadvertised)...

    NEGOTIATE...

But on the other hand...I HAVEN'T GOT ANY CREDIT LINE INCREASES FROM MBNA IN
    6 YEARS...

    :(

I will request that from MBNA. They have given me a very reasonable limit to start out so I am not to worried about increases with them yet.

As for FLEET, I have read many things about them and their "fixed" APRS.

    Thanks again , George :)

I understand the problems about FLEET...but I am NOT going to complain about my 0.00% (BT AND PURCHASES) or my "GO-TO" 9.99% in APRIL 2002...

CALL AND ASK FOR 11.99%...$30.00 MAX BT FEE (other cards have $40.00 max fee).

I have been a MBNA holder since 1995. They have always been wonderful to me. I have the Quantum with a credit line of $26,100.
