Does anyone know if attorneys from one state can take a case from another state? For example, a law firm in Illinois that is very good at FDCPA cases, taking a case in say Texas. Would a call to that firm be appropriate or is there some universal rule that says they can't take it if its out of state? Thanks

They can take a case in any state in which they are licensed and registered before the bar.
