    hmmmmm verrrrry interesting...

I decided to check on an outstanding Ex investigation but the system says that there isn't one in progress using my report number. SO I try and file a dispute figuring that it would show up that way. And then I see it: I'm the AU on the account of a relative since I run his errands and pay his bills etc. When he called the bank, all they asked him was what name to print on the card for me. Well that account is showing up on my report! So should I dispute the $8k tradeline or leave it? hmmmm it has a 30 day from May 2001. That would be an interesting dispute: I didn't have the card, how could I have been late?

Oh yeah, it's reporting all the way back from 1991!! Talk about reaging!

An AU reports as their card not yours, in essence you get their history. That is why they say not to be an AU unless the primary holder is one of the people who always pays on time. My brother let be an AU on his Amex, and I hope to inherit his history for points sake.

I don't mind the extra tradeline even with one 30-day mark. The problem is the bank specifically told him that AUs don't get reported.

I am also and AU on my Granmothers Plat card with an 8 k line, and my Grandfathers Plat card with a 5 k limit. Both acct's report an open date back in the 70's and have never been late. I was born is 74. LOL. I just wish the rest of my credit was up to par.

Yeah I have an AU account reporting since 1974-- my birth year as well. Hey, I will not be arguing with anyone about it. However, in the alert section it says "credit history indicates credit established before age of 18." Yeah, I'd say!

I never got the card until I was 19. But the accts had been open since the early 70's.

Do you mind telling which creditor it was with? My sister recently added me to her Chase but they didn't want my s.s. # and told her it would not report to the bureaus. Darn!!!!

One acct is with chase and the other is with citi. I have not seen a notice on my CR that says anything about having credit before I was 18.
