AU has to live in same city/state?!

I found some interesting post saying that you must live in the same city/state as the primary holder in order to be reported as AU.
I donâ??t think this is true and I believe that if OC have AU Name, DOB or SSN that would be enough for report to show up.
I beleive that AU doesnâ??t have to live in the same city/state as the primary holder. Is this correct or not?

George youâ??re confusing me.:( Last time you said there is no way that they are going to report without SSN, and that name is not enough. Now youâ??re saying something opposite.
And whatâ??s deal with Amex â?? same city/state or they need SSN?

    HUHHHH????

AMEX SS# REQUIRED TO ADD AN "AU"...NO OTHER CARD REQUIRES SS# TO BECOME AN "AU"

    SAME CITY/STATE?????????? NEVER REQUIRED

I know that some of them do not require SSN for AU, but main issue here - is it AU going to show up on credit report with only name given?! Last time you said AU its not going to show up on report without SSN ..

There are a lot of people with the same name. How come CRA is going to match credit file of AU with only name?! No way! Unless they have DOB or SSN, or if you live with primary holder so you have same address.
They need at least 2 data to match credit file. They can't match credit file using only name!

I know for cap1 you don't need to give them the au's ssn# for it to report. Reported on all three for me without my ssn#.

I forget what I gave them, maybe DOB or addy, but I know I didn't give the my ssn#. At the time I didn't want it to report, but it did anyways.

If you are so certain, you didn't need to ask. You have been given the answer. No ss# or dob is needed. How do they do it? Who knows, but they do.

I understand that. They can report without SSN (SSN is not necessary) - but only if they have name and DOB, or name and address. Otherwise they can't report only with name - that's my point.

I'm talking to a BRICK WALL

    NO SS# REQUIRED FOR "AU"

THEY REPORT "AU" IN ALL CASES IN MY 25+ YEAR HISTORY

    SAME CITY/STATE??? NO

REPORTS "AU" ON "THE" CORRECT PERSONS REPORT

Could you please just use common sense? There are a lot of people with the same name .. How they are going to determine that this AU account belongs to John Smith No1 and not John Smith No2?!!

How come you are so sure that no SSN or DOB is needed? If they have same address that is possible - but if they donâ??t - there is no way they are going to match credit file using only name ..

I'm talking to a BRICK WALL also. I agree that SSN is not NECESSERY, but they need something else beside the name - either address or DOB.

Thatâ??s OK George, you donâ??t have to confirm that you have made confronting and opposite statements on the same subject. Nobody is perfect.

I do appreciate every advise from everyone, but I just donâ??t like being called names such as â??BRICK WALLâ? ..

No. that is not true. You can left it in Blank and they still send the card.

I have 4 authorized users with no SS# and they sent all the 4 cards.

I am an authorized user of my brother´s Amex cards I never used SS# or date of birth because I did not want these cards reported on my own Cr reports because I already have too much credit.

Ok Guys believe it or not, the two cards were reported on my own reports!!. they found me only by my name.
