Hi all- A few weeks ago, my mom added me to her CHASE card as an authorized user. She has impeccable credit and doesn't accrue much CC debt. Anyway, I just checked my EQUIFAX report and my FICO score went up 22 pts!!! Wooooo hooooo!
... just curious .... how much was the line of credit and how old was the tradeline that your mom gave you????
Same thing for me, gained about 23 after dad put me on his b of a, 11k limit, 9 yrs old..under 10 % util...hope this helps...
My mom has had the card for about a year (but she's got a long credit history). Her creditline is $13,500 and she's got a balance of $5k on it now. GOOD LUCK!
No, that's the advantage. You gain a tradeline without having an inquiry. But you will be subject to periodic account reviews (soft inquiries) by the issuing bank.
