    Hi everyone,

I might have overlooked a previous post, but I was wondering if I can dispute with either a CA, better yet a CRA, about deleting an account for just being an authorized user. What are my rights? Does anyone know I can go about it?

    Thanks for your help!

Dispute with the CRA as Not mine, belongs to primary acct. holder. I was able to delete three accounts from each CRA that way.

If you are the spouse it will be more difficult in some cases but you should get yourself officially removed as an AU by the Creditor. They have to remove you. Then dispute the account as "Not yours , not an AU'" In my case TU did it for me right away but I found out later that they never bothered asking the creditor at all. Experian won't remove anything without the creditors permission and since it is an charged off account and I am a spouse (see the ECOA) they are giving me a hard time but I am still working on it. Also consider whether you really want to be removed. If there are tons of lates it is probably a good idea but if there is only a few and the account is older you may actually loose more points for loosing an older account.

The three accounts I was talking about were all on my DH credit report (my spouse), all credit cards, and paid charge offs. All three came off all three CRA report the first time disputing the way I mentioned.

I think because the charge-off is unpaid, Sears is using me as leverage. But I am not sure how it will turn out yet since it is still in dispute for the second time. They just verifyed it the first time around. It depends more on the Creditor than anything else. Sears tends to play rough.
