I have a friend that got me on a Credit Card as a "Authorized User". The CC compnay never ask for my Social Security Number, I'm pretty sure its not going to be reported on my Credit Report.

Has anyone already experienced this, can they put it on your Credit Report without a SSN.
Where should i go from here? Do i need to have my friend call the CC company again. I was really counting on that AU tradeline.

    Please Help Me...
    Sincerely,
    Lucas

The can put it on your report as an AU without your SSN. I know that Citibank did this with my wife. Not sure about others.

My husband put me on several of his cards when we met and all listed on my credit report as an AU. I think this helped me as his accounts were very old.

Also, my husband is an authorized user on several of his grandfather's cards and all are listed on his report.

When going for mortgages we always point out the AU cards to the broker so that they can exclude them from the Debt to Income ratio calculation.

Has anyone been put on as a "AU" withoout them taking your SSN and if so did they put it on your Credit Report. How about with a Target Card.

    thanks,

My boyfriend put me on his Sears without my SSN and it is reporting on my credit reports. I don't really know how this is legal.

AT&T Universal/citibank and discover are both reporting on ours for AU- both bad tradelines! I called, got taken off as AU and disputed with CRA, came right off.

I was an AU on my husband's Marshall Field's (owned by Dayton-Hudson corp) card- they're the same bank (Retailers) that issues the Target cards.

It is listed on my EQ report as "open- 30 days past due". Funny thing is he filed BK on them in 1999! AND it's not on ANY of his reports and he was the account holder!

    NO SS# NEEDED to report.

IT IS 100% LEGAL...If you want it gone...have him remove you as an "AU"...then dispute it as "NOT MINE" with the CRA'S.

I have recently been added as an AU on my mothers credit card (to help my score), but they didn't ask for my social, so how exactly do they report this tradeline on my credit report when they only have my name??? Should I just wait or should I call and give them my social??
