Is there a difference between being an authorized user and a joint account. I have an old credit card that I am still listed as an authorized user with on my credit report. Does this have an effect on my score? And if that person does not pay their bills, would it affect me? Thanks.

    AU~~authorized user...can use the account...NO contractual liability...

    JOINT~~contractual responsibility ...BOTH responsible...

I don't have any joint accounts on my credit report, but I do have some authorized user accounts on my credit report. Does the balance on the authorized user accounts affect my score? Let me know if you know. Thanks.
