   I have read a couple of things on here about authorized user s and wanted to know if I had many accounts only a year old if it would advantageous to become a AU on my mom's account which is over 25 years old to boost up my date history even if her she has a high balance ( 8000 out of 10000).    Although age does help your credit, I think adding an account that is at 80% usage may actually LOWER your score.
   
   Ratios from what I have experienced play a MAJOR role in scoring.
