   My mother got a lease with GMAC (Smart Buy) in June 2000. I'm not sure what her scores were, but I would guess mid to high 500's. She had quite a few negatives as I look back over her old reports.
   
   She did have a substantial down payment, but nevertheless she got the loan at 4.9%.
