    It makes a tremendous difference in your rates with those companies who use credit scores. And just FYI, there's a game of sorts that some insurance agents will play. They'll *not* run your credit score prior to offering you a quote, as they are supposed to, and then after you purchase the policy they'll contact you and tell you the price is actually higher and they need more money because your credit wasn't good enough to qualify for the rate they gave you. At that point you can cancel, but you'll incur cancellation fees, etc., and it usually isn't worth it. Plus if you cancel at that point you have to wait for a refund, if there is any now that they have uprated you, and in the mean time still come up with money for another policy somewhere else. Most of the time they'll keep your business, and that's why they do it. If you people contact their legislators they can push for credit scoring to be illegal in their state, and then this game can't so easily be played.
