Does anyone know how an auto lease shows up on credit reports? Is it considered an installment? Does it show up at all? Thanks in advance.

I have had 4 auto leases through Chrysler Financial since 1994. Theuy all reported as installment loans on all 3 bureaus.

Thanks for your response. I don't know why it should show up as an installment loan though. It's a contract but you are not buying anything. Why should it be any different than rent or cable or utilities? I'm only asking because I think I'm going to need a new car and at the same time I want to apply for a mortgage. I don't want a car loan showing up right now on my credit reports. I guess it's just bad timing.
