Sorry to hear that. You should definitely check out some of the other lenders that CN members have recommended.

Getting pre-approved for auto financing is a must. First of all, I think you have more bargaining power and second, you don't have to sit in the dealership for 8 million hours filling out finance paperwork!

    Good luck, Teesha.

How about lendingtree.com? I just rei'd my truck and had 3 approvals. I have a 3yr old BK-7, bought a truck 6 months ago at 17%, (we were desperate, other car broker down) anyway, we just refi'd at 10%, scores are 604-624.Still not fantastic, but it knocked a year off our loan, and lowered our monthly pymt by 50.00.

You must mean the eddie bauer edition. I doubt the xlt's have leather seats, dvd, etc.

That would be an okay price for an Eddie Bauer. If its an xlt, your getting taken to the cleaners.

What year how many miles etc... Remember, unless you have money to blow, it is NEVER good to buy a new vehicle, they depreciate THOUSANDS once you drive off the lot. What part of MS?

I was thinking of new. Can you suggest a milage range and price at that range. Since I am buying later on this year, I would like a 2003 or 2002. I'm from Clarksdale. It's about 50 miles south of the casinos.

You can check out sites like edmunds.com, or carbuyingtips.com. My wife and I bought a '02 Galant with 12k miles on it for 11k.

Oh, I think you opened the gate now!

I am in Texas and we are looking for a 99 or 00' Eddie Bauer Explorer, V6, with less than 60K. The dealers usually have them starting at between $12-15K (some as high as $17,000 if really low miles) if in good condition. I suspect that the dealers paid around $2,500-$4,000 less at auction or, they got the car from a low ball trade-in offer to a customer who did not know any better. So do you mind telling me what range you see these going for at auction in your area?

Sorry to hear that. Who did they pull? Have you thought about going to a dealership with YOUR copy of the report and see if a Finance Director is willing to push for you? (Don't let him pull again unless he thinks there is a big chance).

Well, hubby just bought Eddie Bauer 00' with 68k miles for 10,300 (EXCELLENT condition) ON e thing for everyone to keep in mind, this is a dealers season right now, my hubby will make more in the next 3 months than he will the rest of the year together, it is tax season, so the prices of vehicles are thousands more that the rest of the year. The best time of year to buy a vehicle is right before Thanksgiving or Christmas, that is when they may go weeks w/o selling one therefore are willing to let em' go just to turn the money.

How do you get one wholesale? My mother use to have dealers license. But she let the expire. So I can't go to the auctions anymore. Got my last car from one, but it turned out to me a lemon.

Just reinsate her license and reregister at the auction, of course to renew her license she will have to get another bond. If you bought the car at the auction and it turned out to be a lemon then you had to have bought the car under the red light. I would NEVER by a personal vehicle under a red light..

I don't know what buying under a right light mean, but it was purchased from a local car dealership. It is a mazada 626. Most of the model that I have, have had transmission problems. My mother is not going to go throught the hassel so I can get a car again.

I'm a big one for delaying applications until your score is at least 680. 680 is so so credit.

Teesha you've been around for a while now. What has happened with your efforts to fix your reports and drive up your scores?

That's what we need to do first.

    :)
