Hmmm I had been pouting about not getting increases recently. Today I logged on and my limits had been increased WITHOUT MY ASKING! Has anyone else had this happen?? Now I love the new website
Yes. A few months after they turned me down for a CL increase and for a special BT rate, they then increased my CL from $15,000 to $22,500 and gave me a BT rate of 6.9%. They had already lowered my APR. Yesterday I checked my bill and they had reduced my APR from 10.49% to 7.48%. They are now my favorite cc company.
This is a sore subject. I have 2 Citi cards. Once I've had since 1992 and only have received 2 increases of which both I had to basically whine for. The first was when my $300 secured card when to unsecured (w/ a $500 increase) after 36 months (was supposed to be 18 month but they said I was late one time by a day or something). The other was in 2001 when I bitched and complained about not getting an increase (after being denied from clicking on increase and filling out the small app). Next thing I knew like a month or so later I get an email saying Congratulations....you've earned an increase ($1200). Stupid! My limit to this day on an account 10 years old is $1200 but Citi will let me do the BDD and switch to a Platinum card w/ a $10500 limit! Only reason why I keep the *toy card* is because it's my oldest trade. I'll have this card forever. I thought about combining my Platinum card to the toy card but I'm afraid that they might mess up how the card reports thus wiping out my 10 year history.
How do you get a RAISE (INCOME) when they say "YOUR OVER-PAID NOW"??? ...BUT THEN I DON'T WANT ANY MORE~~~DENIED~~~"EXCESSIVE INCOME"...AND I EVEN TOOK IT (THE LETTER) TO WORK AND ASKED PEOPLE TO READ IT TO ME!!!
Clicked on Citibank increase limit. Immediate turn down, reayments on account low (but always current and on time - I have a good BT rate) and too many accounts near CL. Also stated they will send notice via mail in 7-10 days. FWIW.
OH yeah, Citi gets nervous when they see high balance to limit ratio. They like lots of activity, big payments. I paid them off because they looked at my credit report twice in one month. I thought "ut-oh! I am making them nervous!" Paid them off right then! They liked it, hehe. Too bad - they were making money! But - if they get nervous, I get nervous, LOL.
