    I don't think I can stomach the $395 annual fee but, Dog, it arrived today!!! I also just accepted Preferred Rewards Gold over the phone so don't think I'll go for this right now. It is exciting though!!!

    $395!!!

    That is alot of CHEESE..I will stick with my delta skymiles, rewars green and gold and call it a day.

    For that much money the bill better arrive by private Courier and they better send a Brinks Truck for the payment.

    You know NiceGuy - you never know if this is the once in a lifetime ultimate opportunity -
    1 - you never know what could happen
    2 - You could sit at home for a few meals and just pay the fee. You know you would be delighted any time you used it.
    3 - It Is the ultimate recognition, NiceGuy - that you have been working for. It is the top end of the spectrum - what you have wanted.

    Do it. If they send it to me, I will because of the reasons above. But - I am a member since 2000 - so who knows if they send it out earlier....

    I've got one. Take your point about the fee George but from my perspective it's only expensive if you don't use the benefits, i.e. companion tickets, airport lounge access, concierge etc. Only real gripe I have is that even with the platinum you still have to navigate the automated answering service if you call CS, for the best part of $400 I'd kind of like the calls to get answered immediately by a rep (I have a Diners too and they always answer quickly and in person). If you get the invite and think you'll use the benefits its worth it.

    automatic goldmember in starwoods program is worth the 395 alone if you travel alot as I do........

    I too was originally troubled by the fee -- but I went for it anyway!!

    I say go for it!

    I love the card and the reactions I sometimes get from hotel clerks when I present it upon check-in.
