<HTML>"If you use them, it will cost you. If you lose them, it could cost you even more. When it comes to convenience checks, there's plenty to be wary about.

They are great for me. I only use them when they come with a teaser rate. I earn 19.47%APR from CreditWorks. It works for me.

I've only ever used to them to effect a balance transfer to a 'teaser' rate or to deposit funds to my own banks account and pay off other debts. All of the rest of them get shredded, especially the ones that First USA (see: moronic boobs) keeps sending on closed accounts.

The other thing to be aware of is that you will NOT get the cancelled check back, so it's best not to use them when you might be required to provide proof of payment, such as a cancelled check.

Read the terms and conditions for the checks VERY carefully, even if it requires buying a magnifying glass to read the microscopic print regarding the fees and other charges.
