RE: FirstUSA Offers to Settle Yeah, big deal. Some settlement. I get 75 cents back from these moronic boobs despite all of the letters and phone calls to try and sort out the mess they made of one of my (now closed, finally, thank God) accounts. Doesn't even cover the cost of paper, toner, and envelopes, much less postage, grief and aggravation.
RE: FirstUSA Offers to Settle I second that. Had a FUSA eCard for a couple of months but caught on to their bullshit pretty quickly. Got a Nextcard, transferred my balance and closed the FUSA account. Six months later I was still receiving billing statments (with zero balance.) Took several phone calls to get them to stop harassing me with those. Very annoying company, and $40 mill ain't @!#$ for them. I suspect those who brought the lawsuit won't settle for that, esp. in light of the recent Providian settlements ($300+ mill earlier this year, and $105 mill just recently.) 'nuff said! -bb
