I have a 688 TU so i applied for their visa gold and they came back with application pending check back within 24 hours. would that usually mean declined?? If so oh well i tried.. My TU was a 607 and i disputed so the disputes would be around labor day and i got several lines removed as well as a judgement.. so my fako went up to 688
is your TU report totally clean or do you have any derogs left on it? did you also apply for the platinum? good luck humblemarc
I received a gold with a TU real fico of 676. I was initially declined because of date of last inquiry but had someone reconsider and was approved for $3000 gold card.
When were you approved? Any derogs on report? How many inquiries did you have? When was your lastest one? thanks for the info. humblemarc
I applied for the card at the beginning of August. I had applied for a Chase card at the end of July, and they pulled two credit reports. So, at the time, I had a total of 4 inquires all within the last 60 days. I have one derog on my report (charge off, not paid, 6 years old) Also, make sure your ratios are good, because they look at this also. One of my reasons was high utilization, but I paid majority of the balances down, they hadn't updated the information. BTW, anyone else having problems with TU being VERY SLOW about updating reports? Anyway, the lady handling my reconsideration was very nice. I faxed proof of income and proof showing my current balances. At the time of the application, I submitted a balance transfer, so that could be the reason for the credit limit.
For me it took about 3-4 days to get approved Got the same message with you). They have a web site where you can check the status of the application. Finally I was approved for $6k with one paid chargeoff and 6-7 inquires on my TU. The fake TU score was about 750, and I had less than $1k balances. That was my highest credit limit at that time. Then I applied for MBNA, which took 3 weeks to be approved, but I got $10k. They pulled TU too. This is by far the highest credit limit now. It is really good if you consider that the previous limits I had were $600 GM and $500 Target Visa (just 3-4 months ago). Here is a summary: May 2000: Providian $1500 (just closed it) May 2002: Target Visa $500 (just closed it) June 2002: Capital One Platinum $2000 July 2002: GM card $600 (just closed it) July 2002: Fleet Platinum $5000 August 2002: B of A Platinum $6000 August 2002: Household Bank Gold $3000 Sep 2002: MBNA Platinum Plus $10000 I think I am going to stop applying now and work on what I have. I think I am going to cancel capital one too though ($49 annual fee and I really don't need the credit). Mark
I applied for and received the card around the beginning of August. I had a TU FAKO score of around 650 but with no negatives. It took them about 3-4 days but I received the Platinum card with a $8100 limit (notification via the website). I had actually applied for the Gold but apparently they upgraded me. I do have a checking account with them as well, so this may be the reason for the limit. It's my highest personal limit so far.
when you go from a 477 fako in march of this year to a 688 you kinda get excited and want a pime card. oh well wishful thinking i guess
