Tried Bank of America earlier today. I was expecting them to pull TU from what I had read, instead they used EX.

Declined within 60 seconds: (i) number of inquiries in past 5 months, (ii) open accounts with balances.

I had 4 inquiries on the report and the other balances I thought were pretty low:

    Discover 4,916/7,500
    WF Visa 165/15,000
    Providian 0/1,500
    Chase 0/1,200
    MBNA 299/5,000
    Home Depot 771/1,500
    Lowes 101/1,000
    Costco 258/3,000

(Two Amex accounts not yet reported)

    Score of 719

    Any suggestions?

Your Discover and Home Depot balances are more than 50%. I know, overall the utilization is great but sometimes just having A tradeline over 50% - even if it's a $1500 CL - can trigger a flag for them.

Your score *should* be enough, but there are other factors at play here. Perhaps the history on the accounts is a factor. If many of them are recent, in conjunction w/the inquires, could appear like you're "stocking up" on credit.

Baloney, there are a lot of people with worse scores than you that got the card. I'd suggest PFB and see if you can get a manual review. I think your chances are pretty high.

I would PFB right away I think after a review you have a great shot at getting approved.

    Good luck

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I am waiting for the HD card to update - it was paid in full a couple of days ago, Monogram do this pretty promptly which is good as they don't get much else right...I did 0% BT on Discover last month which is a bit of scam as they apply an payments to this first and charge interest at 13.99% on new purchases, so I will probably pay that off in full too, once these are on I will contact them and ask for reconsideration, and will post their response.
