Hi Best of luck to all of you Those babys make their presence when they are ready .so enjoy the last few days together as a twosome..lol ..Go buy some red raspberry tea has been know to start labour too..Drink lots of it...Go for a long walk... Talk to your baby and just relax ... I went into labour in the wee morning hours all three times ...it will happen. Birth is a beautiful things ..We are all thinkng about you Keep us posted ... Jamie
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Well babies have a funny way way of coming @ strange times, at least for my wife, the last one 12/23/01 @ around 3 AM, within 15 minutes of getting to the hospital!! Whew, that was stressfull. You might want to change your nickname now,LOL, or maybe it's just my interpretation! Any way ENJOY your new baby!!!!
You know what the doctors told me through all 3 pregnancies? They said the best way to start labor was to have as much s*x as possible, but if your wife is anything like I was, at that point that is the last thing you want to do.

Oh good, I noted that tnobles got the same sex advice, LOL, it really is something in the semen, I can't recall the name but that is what the doctors actually rub on the cervix to stimulate contractions. It's A LOT cheaper to do it yourself, he he he. However, I'm sure Mrs. Kbanger likely doesn't feel like accomodating, in fact, I believe I accused my doctor when making the suggestion of it being a man-thinking-with-your-other-head conspiracy! Ok, has the gonna pop look, first baby, original due date of 9/21... I'm going for tomorrow, Tuesday 9/24, based on nothing but my own birthing experiences -- my first two joys of my life were both 3 days late (one boy and one girl -- one huge and healthy, one small with some initial health issues -- how's that for the accuracy of those fun old wives tales ;-). The semen thing is a true statement, and I can't remember the actual chemical. I'm gonna guess for Saturday 9/26 at around 1 in the morning. (that would be Friday night, Saturday morning).
What I was told was something to do with the orgasm, can't remember what exactly, something about stimulation causing the cervex to contract. can also be stimulation of the areola.
Now that you mention, havent seen him around all day. Guess we should all pray for the three of them tonite

Having intercourse can be a method of natural labor induction. Semen contains prostaglandins which help to efface (thin out) and dilate the cervix. They often use prostaglandin to induce labor by rubbing it directly on the cervix. And yes the orgasm also comes in to play. An orgasm causes the uterus to contract. It´s not a given that intercourse will bring on labor - but for women who are ready anyway - it very well could do the trick. Ohnostuck <~~~~~doula

Monday Night no baby yet. Please read my current ordeal with GMAC. We are still using Sassy's suggestion. Tomorrow we will start with Tea and Oil. But tonite, tonight is Sassy induce labor sytle night!!!!
I wasn't trying to correct ya I did not even notice you used the wrong body part till ya pointed it out LOL! You are also right about the nipple stimulation... Nipple stimulation releases one's own natural oxytocin (same as the Pictocin that they use in IV's to start labor). This method often works BETTER than sex (how often can you say better than sex in the same sentence)?! If you want to start contractions tell her to use a warm towel to both breasts for five minutes or massaging one nipple for ten minutes has been shown to induce adequate uterine contractions in 20 minutes or less. If she is not comfortable with this a breast pump works great. OK enough boob talk :0)
