....current ScorePower: 706--but, there are caveats. ScorePower a week ago was 680, with the following non-disputed negative information: 1) One 60 day late from '95 on student loan (now in dispute--for the umpteenth time) 2) A Conseco trade line that says "unknown" and "30 days: 00 times, 60 days: 00 times, 90 days: 00 times" (instead of pays as agreed/installment real estate)--again, showing in dispute, 3) Discover (just opened in December): hi credit/credit line: $0 (wrong: $5K), balance: $0, now showing hi credit $1700, balance $1700 (did a 0% BT)--now in dispute (told 'em to report the credit line correctly just like Experian and TU are capable of) Those three supressions are worth 28 points (give or take for a month of aging); #2 and #3 are really technicalities, but I think their impact is significant, 'cause I don't think #1 is worth 28 points alone (tho I could be wrong). So, for the time being, kind of a hollow victory--the 706 that is. Now, I know I said I was on the wagon, but it's mighty tempting to go apply for something online with instant approval that pulls EQ and gives good terms for a 706 score. Suggestions? Cheers, David
Be aware even though the score is showing higher, the lines will still show up on your credit report. I got psyched out one time thinking I would get an added bonus while applying with disputes in progress. It don't happen that way However...I dont' think a few late payments will STOP you from getting credit with that kind of score. You must still have pretty dang good credit
....yeah, probably a temporary membership card will be issued--something paper--I, of course, will be using the revolving door/server's entrance to enter and exit the 700 club property. I'm looking for my permanent card sometime in late, late 2002/early, early 2003. Cheers, David
...plus, I'm sitting here repeating my mantra--"don't apply for anything stupid--you don't need it--what are you doing over at the Cap One site? You don't even like them for chrissakes".... ...those type things...normal behavior among the Romans... Cheers, David
I'm not...my goal--as of this second--is no more inquiries until January, 2003. Good thing I enjoy alcohol. Cheers, David
