Back to OC, what does that mean?

I have one collection account. It is from
Credit Protection Assoc. (the CA). The OC is Cox Communications.

I spoke with the OC and they said they would 'pull the account back' from the CA, and I could make payments directly to them (the OC).

    What does that mean?

Will the CA take the collection account off my report or not?

    Any ideas?

-Because most accounts are "placed" with a colleciton agency and are not sold to them, the original creditor can "re call" the account. Sounds like they have agreed to do this.

"Will the CA take the collection account off my report or not?"

-The original creditor can REQUEST the collection agency remove the listing, but the collection agency does not have to remove it.

-If the orignal creditor does re-call the account, and the collection agency continues to attempt to collect on it, this creates a large problem for the collector :)

If the collection company is attmepting to collect a debt which has been recalled by the creditor, they are "misrepresenting the legal status of the debt" ie ITS NOT THEIRS TO COLLECT.

Not to mention FRAUD, EXTORSION etc etc :)

    THATS HOW SO!

    :)

And this is how you can leverage the CASS definition of continued reporting to the credit bureaus as COLLECTION ACTIVITY. :)

If you dispute their trade line, they should not be able to verify the trade line, because it has been recalled.

If they do so, they are misrepresenting the fact that they have the account, and they are reporting false credit information.

    That's what I thought so.
Just thought you might have had another angle or so.

So what I am hearing is that if I can have it pulled back to the OC (which has not reported to the CRAs) it would be a good idea?

-It would stop further contact with the collection agency (in theory).

-And if the original creditor can get the collection agency to DELETE the tradeline, IT IS A GOODER idea :)
