A few years ago I had fixed all my reports and had a decent credit score. Then my hours got cut and its taken 3 years to be working full time and not scraping by. Almost all my bad cc things were last paid May 06 so are SOL (3 yrs but not the 180 days)I did get a FICO report for all 3 last year but know I need to get the full reports from each agency to have an accurate picture of what's going on now. I do know there were 2 that truly "weren't mine"

Still, its been awhile since I was doing credit repair - so would it cause problems ordering my reports because of the SOL maybe not being fully over?

I should be able to make PIF payments in the next few months - one creditor at a time. And I intend to re-read how to make payments here. I remember paying for deletes but if I do that all my "goodie lines" will be 4 years old. I'd rather not even deal with new credit - necessary though if I hope to buy a house sometime.

I have an old Providian I owe on only I read they're no longer in business - don't know what to do with them.

I did have one secured card on there without any lates/balances showing, though it does have "closed by creditor" that I might try to revive to get one good recent line. Most are unsecured, have balances and were written off.

Anyway, its starting over time and first thing is getting those reports. Should I order them..or wait till I'm further along to be sure I'm past SOL.

Since it doesn't seem like you know exactly what is on your reports why not go to www.annualcreditreport.com and get your yearly free report. Just a starting point...

    creditsupp,

I'd like to do just that but am not sure if having my current address on them won't stir the pot too soon before the SOL is up.

I've read that Providian (was WaMu, now who knows) is having trouble returning paperwork for SOME debtors. If you are within a month or two of the SOL, I'd suggest just laying low for a while. It really SHOULDN'T make a difference, but if it came down to another 30-90 day wait, I'd just sit tight.

WaMu is now Chase. I'm sure that anything that was there when Chase took over will be around, but who knows before that.

Chase has all the info from day one of the old card.I'm currently in a law suit with them.

I just pulled another set of FICO and it looks like my old Providian is now
showing as a new account opened 3/09 under Arrow - with 120+ late though it has date of last activity 6-06.

Its past SOL. Isn't Arrow a CA?
