Backdoor re-reporting deleted TL

    Would calling the card issuer and saying that the magnetic stripe on the card has been obliterated (forcing them to send a replacement) get a new card number or will they just send a card with the same number as the old one?

    Just wondering if that could work in getting a supressed/deleted card put back onto TU.

    A damaged card will get you a new card with the old number.
    A lost card will get you a new number.

    Right. They just send you a replacement card with the same number.

    Yup, my Target Visa card started to peel.

    Called CS and a new card with same account number was sent.

    Nothing on my CR changed from this.

    Guess I'll have to go on a sleepwalk one of these days and lose the card in the woods somewhere (LOL)

    Wouldn't do any good because any negs fron the old card would still be listed on your reports.
