Thanks for the response to my earlier post. I talked to the CA this morning. They informed me that since I did not respond to their initial notice (that I never received) I had given up my right to dispute. They refuse to validate, I got a hold of the manager he would not even discuss settlement. Any ideas? Here is the particulars: 3 bad checks I never recieved notice from my bank or CA until now (the checks were written 2 years ago) total including fees: $250,00 I always keep a reserve in my account to cover any surprises but I can't find any bank statements to show proof. All three checks are to the same store and written over a month apart
They are lying - they have to Validate. Did you send them a Val.letter Crrr? They can't prove they sent the original notice can they.
They are flat-out liars! They absolutely have to validate. Ask them to prove they sent out an original notice and that you actually received it. Nontheless, you still have every right to ask for validation. Tom
IS it true that you never recevied any notice from your Bank.If you never heard anything from your bank then there never were any checks. Ask the bank for any statements that you don't have. Did you ever do business with the store? Did the store ever ask you to make good on any of the checks. If they did not it means that there was not any bad check.
I agree with the validation. Also, you can go to the bank and get copies of the statements (and checks) for the time period in question. It will cost you but at least you can see what happened.
