IF a check is paid for tuition for college and bounces is there a SOL on this check and if so what kind of account would this be considered? i.e. open, written, promissory, ect?
IF a check is paid for tuition picantel I would think it would be handled same as any other check that bounced. LB 59
If it is a state school, there may be a different SOL. Government agencies frequently grant themselves special treatment by passing laws that apply only to them Why didn't they come after you at the time? I can't believe they let you stay in school if your check bounced. At the school where I graduated, they had a policy that if you owed any money, even a small library fine, they would deny to everyone that you ever attended school there. In other words, if an employer called to verify your degree, they would say they had no record of you ever attending.
DENY ACCESS TO GRADES KICK YOU OUT DENY TRANSCRIPT When I went to COLLEGE they didn't take roll in many classes (YES THEY HAD COLLEGE BACK THEN)~~~ ...But I guess they could take "ROLL" because we USUALLY had a QUIZ, TEST, or HOMEWORK almost everyday... Some of the classes I had were 50+ students...
I remember the quarter prior to my garadution getting a letter from the registrar with a checklist. Two of the items were to take care of any library fines and check with the University Police about any traffic tickets. Along with bounced checks, etc.
No no the check had nothing to do with me. I was asking for someone else. The check was for the last quarter of school in the last year of grad school. It bounced when the parents did not send over the cash due to financial hardship. My main question was is there a SOL on this bounced check? The school is not a state run school I think but who knows.
