    I'll give you "an" answer...

    It DEPENDS...

Part of the F.I.C.O. scoring is DEBT TO CREDIT LIMIT RATIO...
If you carry over month-to-month $1,000 but have TOTAL credit limits of $20,000...NO
If your total limits are $3,000...YES

Now I have a few questions for you...WHY CAN'T I GET A CREDIT LIMIT INCREASE AFTER 6+ YEARS OF NONE WITH PERFECT PAYMENT HISTORY...10+ YEARS WITH MBNA...24+ TOTAL YEARS ALL CREDIT????????

Why would they rather I pay the account off and NOT use it then, give me a lower rate than 11.99% (QUANTUM)??????

Why do they give me BALANCE TRANSFERS for only 3 months max @ 4.70%??????

Why give NEW customers 0.00% for like 9 months??????

honestly MBNA is a joke in my opinion we are one of the worst creditors out there. We offer really cool no transaction fee 9 month 0% BT rates to people who dont deserve them, but we often screw our good customers over. As you can see I'm not very loyal to mbna.

I recently got an mbna card (its my first card ever I'm 18) its a 1,000$ credit line at 8.9 fixed APR. So if I have a balance then my credit score will be affected? Even if I'm on time with payments?

    Just wanted to make sure
    thanks-

Make the payment a few days before the due date...

You lose the "FLOAT"...but you won't get "HIT" so bad...

    mbnaman,

With a new card and a credit history that is just beginning, I wouldn't worry to much about credit scores. You just have no history. Just concentrate on paying your bills on time and in the agreed amount and put some money in the bank.
