It's not a stupid question at all. It's a normal one coming out of BK. My recommendation would be to speak with any banker contacts you have or just walk into a bank and ask to speak with an account exec. The bank you are speaking with may not be able to assist you directly but they usually know where to help you begin. This is a case of learning to walk before you run. It's a process and you should begin now. Do things like getting any kind of loan with a co-signer and make sure the payment history gets reported to the major credit reporting agencies. Look online, talk to friends, talk with BK specialists, etc. You are a consumer in a demographic that is very sought after. The BK sucked I'm sure. Hopefully you are back on track and have learned from the ordeal. Do not feel ashamed if your BK was due to honest mistakes.

If you want to go to school, why not apply for a student loan? Contact the school and ask them what you need to do.

Credit Unions are often more friendly and easy to work with.
