I was just recently approved for a B of A card and was curious if anybody has had success in increasing the credit limit before activating. -0m
I received bofa card in Feb. with $6900 limit. I called CS and requested CL increase, but was told that my account was too new to rate and to try back in 6 months. Rep recommended that I show some activity in the card before requesting next CL increase.
6-9 months with activity - then they get REALLY generous. You'll either get BT offers (increase your limit up to ...) which you can call and they'll increase the limit with or without the xfer. OR, just call and see if the system has pegged you for a higher limit. Good luck, and enjoy the card. -mj
They pulled TU for me about 2 years ago when I opened the account and also for 2 limit increases I've received since then. I don't know what my score was 2 years ago.
