Hi all, I was thinking of applying for the 9.9% fixed rate card and I was wondering how hard is it to be approved? Is it easier to be approved for this than the Bank of America Platinum card? I already have Chase Platinum, MBNA Quantum, and Citibank Platinum, but none of these Visa cards have a fixed 9.9% rate. Thanks.
Hi Steve, You may find my thread on their gold MC of interest. I applied for the 8.9% fixed BT for life gold card instead of the fixed purchase rate card, so I don't know if it was any easier or difficult. I applied for the gold b/c I do think it is easier for qualification. And based on my credit line - I got an instant upgrade (upon request) to platinum. My Trans Union credit score per BofA was 664 at the time of my application. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=75074#post75074 Hope this helps,
Thanks, marci. I think I'll go ahead and apply for the 9.9% gold card and see what happens. I've only had one inquiry in the last 6 months and many of my accounts are hitting the two year mark soon so I should be getting some FICO bonus points.
Just found out that I was approved for a 9.9% fixed rate Platinum card with an initial limit of 7500. I'm so happy that I finally got a Visa Platinum card with a 9.9% rate because I applied for the Cap One Platinum card several months ago and didn't get it. Instead, they gave me a regular card with a cheap $1,000 limit. Screw Cap One and their bait and switch tactics!!!
Congrats! I personally hate B of A, but I hope you have better luck with them. Hopefully their Credit card division is better than their checking/savings division... Shawn
Congrats Steve. I think you will be pleased with your card and your account. I have been with them for about 8 months. I have had no problems to date. Customer service has been awesome when I have had to call. They are very friendly and professional. Bank of America will offer you great balance transfer deals. Good luck!!
Do a Cap1 letter to Planetfeedback and see if you can get the Cap1 Platinum too. Put in it that you just got the 9.9 BofA card and you could end up with both if you want them.
