To get upgrade to Bank of America Platinum you need $5000 or more CL on existing accounts. It may be combined. They do it very professional.
I originally had a 1250 CL from them, got my reports cleaned up, applied for a Plat (still pending) but in the mean time Robin raised my CL to 5000. Anyone have any ideas as to how much of a chance that platinum app has of going through. The app was done on Friday, and has been pending ever since. Robin did her reevaluation of my account today and did not even mention that application.
If you have pending application then it went through. With BofA it takes sometime up to 7-10 business days to approve you. Wait until then and request all accounts to be consolidated.
I agree with Platinum. I had a similar experience happen to me, the second account should be approved.
Well, the approval for a $7500 platinum card was posted today. How long do I have to have either card before I can combine the 5k Gold into the Platinum?
Wooohooooo... Congrats! Thanks for the Robin info...She was very nice and responded to my e-mail re: questions about applying with old bk. Of course, they can't tell you anything unless you apply first. They still pull tu, right?
I am in NY, and they pulled TU. When I asked Robin what CRA they were going to pull, and she just said that it depended on my area. I just did 12.5K in two days with them. I am pumped! Now if I can just get Chase/Continental to review my account, I know I could do well with them also.
Rawhide, just in case Robin didn't consolidate the two cards for you already, wait until you recieve both cards in hand and call customer service. They will be happy to consolidate into one happy card for you. The other reason I love them, even after you have consolidated the cards, and you have a refund that you may need to do at a store, you can use the old card(so you won't confuse the cashier) and it will post the credit to the new account with no problem. I consolidated two accounts and just received approval for my last card for 8.8k. (I wanted the mini card and my current Platinum advantage account didn't qualify for it) Good luck with Chase, my luck sucked with them! The only thing they will happily offer me is a apr decrease unless I agree to a hard inquiry. The rep told me that I should receive an auto increase by 1yr anniversary, so I will wait. It looks like I will never have a relationship with Amex, but BofA more than makes up for it!
I feel your pain. Despite all my good luck with credit, Citibank just made 9 years old and is STILL at $600. I just lost my last derog on EQ, so they don't have a valid excuse any longer for that crappy CL! Two clean credit reports, look out EXP, you haven't heard the last of me!
I actually decided that my two main credit cards (MC/Visa) were going to be BoA and Chase Continental. Everything else got the sock drawer. I have no desire for a discover card because the wife and I did not care for their policies when we were with them before. Now I am not sure as to try to have Chase review my current 2k card for an increase or just go in for a Plat and sock drawer the 2k? Either way, its a hard inq.
Well, folks, I applied for CHase. I have a BIG feeling I will get the big D. I am waiting for their mail response...assuming they don't do instant. Our mortgage is through them. No bk or any inqs on report, 1 paid baddie, 1 c/o from ex reporting on my report as inc in bk, which I wasn't included on. Maybe I will go the route of calling with my reject letter. Has pfb ever worked for Chase? Like I said, doubt it will happen...you has to be baddie-free to accept, right? Frankly, I don't care if I get a 500 limit. Hate Crap1 and want to b/t.
I actually had (at the time) 1 chargeoff, 1 collection and 1 30day late when I applied for their Continental Classic card and got one for 2k. Now that I am clean, I went ahead and applied for the continental platinum.
How long did it take to hear somehting from them? I know you probably got it a while ago. Can;t wait to be 100%. Hubby is 99% there... This is all so worth it! Odd how I used to think good credit was not a big deal. Finally grew some and not only realized it really IS a big deal, but got up the nerve to do something about it. I guess if good credit happened overnight, it wouldn't be as rewarding.
I received a pre-approved offer from BOA for a Platinum Visa a couple of weeks ago (end of January). I knew they'd pull EQ as I had seen the PRM inquirty - and that's my best report (783 this morning - woo hoo!). Any way, I applied and was approved for a Platinum Card - got a 2500 CL. Got it and did some balance transfers as they gave me a 1.9 rate to do so. Moved some balances from my Household and Umbrella accounts. YESTERDAY, I received ANOTHER pre-approved offer from them for another pre-apporved Visa Platinum. What happens if I accept the second one? Can I do this and then later on combine them to up the first one's CL? Is this maybe just a mistake on their part? What do you all think! (and hey - Cap One went bye-bye this morning!!!!!!! For those who know me - you know I had a lawsuit with them) Mommy2cats
My thing with Chase was back in December. I applied around Dec 3 or 4, and had the card by December 20.
