I want to open another savings account and was wondering how strict BoA is to open these. I am not on Chex. I however have a checkered EQ report and would rather they not add an inquiry to it. Does anyone have experience with them?

    Inquiry for a savings account???

You give them money, they pay you interst, you add more money, you may need to do a withdrawal once or twice a year...

HOW WOULD A CREDIT REPORT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH A SAVINGS ACCOUNT???

    My question exactly GEORGE!

I've heard that BofA runs a credit check on all new accounts now. Do a search on this board.

Anyone else have any info on BofA and them checking reports???

Believe it or not, for some ridiculous reason it does. Six banks told me where to go in July when I tried to open savings. Wachovia saved me but I want to build a relationship with other banks. I just want savings.

So you go in the bank with like $500 in your hot little hands and want to open a savings account, and they REFUSE THE BUSINESS???

A couple of years ago I went to a BoA to open a checking account. They offered me a BoA CC with a $3500 CL right then and there. So, it's a good bet they're checking your credit when you establish your checking/savings accounts.

I'm going to test it...I'll take $1,000 to my WHITTIER, CA BANK OF AMERICA (4 BLOCKS FROM MY HOUSE) next time I'm home, and walk in and plunk down $1,000 cash and tell them I need a savings account.

IF THEY SAY THEY ARE GOING TO DO A CREDIT REPORT...I GUESS I WILL WALK OUT WITH MY $1,000...
