I am trying to decide whether to apply for the bank one united Visa as a back up to my amex, are they good to deal with, or a pain in the **s like most of the posts I have read state? Also, does anyone know who they pull in CA for the United Mileage Plus card?

    Thanks in advance!

I agree but have intentions of not carrying a balance.

Only Bank One has miles for UAL. Wish UAL would wise up and pick someone elso to handle this.

I just wish UAL would wisen up period. Picked up a few thousand shares of their stock when it was only .55. Sitting in the 1.40s now and they're due to come out of bankruptcy early next year. I sure hope their stock mimicks AMR!!

It should as I know the front line employees are doing their best to keep UAL flying. UAL is BIG business in Chicago.

Not sure if the TED thing is going to work out.

Yeah but I think BankOne wants to hold on to the UAL cobrand card until it is absolutely convinced UAL is going under for good. It could mean huge business for BankOne. UAL is also a very large presence in my home town of SF aka SFO (the airport).

Dogman can attest to that :)

That just seems ridiculous to me. Alright maybe I'll hold off, please post when you get some kind of results? I would appreciate it :)

ONE WITH BRAINS DOES NOT PAY INTEREST ON ANY MILEAGE/REWARD CARD!!!

It could be 4-cycle billing at 58.45% interest FOR ALL I CARE!!! I pay $0.00 TOTAL INTEREST FOR THE WHOLE YEAR...

I have the Bank One United Mileage Plus Visa Signature card. It uses the average daily balance method of computing interest. I also have an interest rate of 7.99% on this card, which I consider good for a card that offers such excellent rebates.

This card has become my card of choice because of rewards, interest rate, special offers, fabulous customer service that surpasses my other prime cards.

For comparison purposes, I got my card in two weeks. I applied by telephone rather than the web.

    I should have done that.

The funny thing is that I applied for 7 cc with 6 in one night and none had me mail in proof of residency, except Bank One. Amex gave me instant approval.

At this point I've been charging up a storm on my Chase World Continental and Amex. The only bad thing is that Continental is not as big here as United and American Airlines. I know that I am on Citibank's blacklist so no AA cc.

    Best regards,
