I can't believe the government is letting these big banks gobble these guys up. Two years ago, Jefferson National was bought by Wachovia and last year they bought Central Fidelity. Now Bank of America is buying Wachovia right after they purchased Nations Bank. When it's all over five banks will run this country and we will all be stuck with ridiculous charges and fees. I'm running out of small town local banks to store my money in. When is it going to end? Dani
Don't worry Dani, some new credit card companys will come to market.Juniper and Umbrella Bank are examples for last year.
I thought I would mention that a credit card company, MBNA, was the biggest contributor to the George W. Bush campaign. This explains the 2001 Bankrupty Bill among other things. Can anyone say "SOFT MONEY!" or "POLITICIAN PAYOFFS!" ? Just FYI MikeB
MBNA AMERICA has an office in BELFAST MAINE... The owner of MBNA AMERICA has a "LITTLE" cottage on the coast of MAINE... The BUSH'S have a house in KENNEYBUNKPORT MAINE... NO PAYOFF INFERRED OR IMPLIED.
