For credit cards BoA is definitely the right bank! Why? Because of their Fraud Unit. I am post ID Theft by ex-spouse. I got a phone call from BoA last month, asking me if I have applied for another cc with them. I told the lady who called that I already have a card with them and no, I have not applied for a new one. She took all the info down, told me what I wanted to know and then I got a letter in mail about 2 weeks later advising me of the situation and about the steps they have taken. All was resolved to my satisfaction. Why am I so shocked\happy? Because they actually verified the info and cross-referenced it with my other accounts with them. The address didn't match, signature didn't match (I have a checking account with them too) etc. They actually called a verified it with me! This is after last year's run-around with Chase, who happily accepted my ex's application in my name and sent him an auth user card too, despite that neither the address nor my SSN matched my other account with them. They were the most unhepful people on earth too, treating me like the criminal even after I sent them a police report and a notarized affidavit. It took me a lot of work to get the derog removed from my reports, and Chase didn't help at all. So, if anybody is post ID Theft, I'd definitely recommend BoA. They DO verify. PawMix
